The University of Parma is a state university with a thousand-year tradition whose fundamental activities are teaching, research and knowledge transfer on the territory - Third Mission. Resting on solid roots, strong in its ancient history and tradition and at the same time projected towards the future, it is one of the most important and well-known university hubs in Europe.

The University of Parma is a large, interdisciplinary galaxy covering all teaching and research areas. It offers a complete course catalogue organised into 10 Departments. Scientific research activities of global importance are carried out within its structures.

The National Research Council (CNR, www.cnr.it/) is a public national research body with multidisciplinary skills, supervised by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR). Participates in the Foundation with the action of CNR-IMEM, Institute of Materials for Electronics and Magnetism (www.imem.cnr.it), which has its main headquarters in Parma, within the university campus.

CNR-IMEM develops interdisciplinary research approaches in the field of materials science, with particular attention to the issues of sustainability and clean energy production technologies.
